Reline
A denture reline is a dental procedure performed to improve the fit and comfort of an existing denture. Over time, due to changes in the jawbone and gum tissue, dentures may become loose or uncomfortable to wear. A reline involves adding new material to the tissue-bearing surface of the denture to ensure a better fit and proper function. This process helps to enhance the stability and retention of the denture, improving its overall comfort and functionality for the wearer.

Reline
There are two types of denture relines:
Hard Reline
Involves the addition of a rigid material, typically acrylic, to the tissue surface of the denture. Hard relines provide a durable and long-lasting solution, although they may require more time to complete.
Soft Reline
Involves the addition of a soft, pliable material, such as silicone, to the tissue surface of the denture. Soft relines are often preferred for patients with sensitive or irritated gum tissue, as they provide a cushioning effect and greater comfort.
Overall, denture relining is an essential procedure for maintaining the fit and function of dentures, ensuring that they continue to provide optimal support and comfort for the wearer.
